Study with people in your actual classes
Studying alone is harder than it needs to be. Orbit finds students in your exact courses who are free when you're free — then gets out of the way so you can message them and get to work.
Orbit is in final testing before the App Store. Sign up and we'll email you the moment it's live.
How it works
- Add your coursesPick the classes you're taking this term from the UBC catalogue.
- Mark when you're freeA weekly grid of the hours you're actually around.
- See who lines upStudents in your courses, with the people whose free hours overlap yours nearest the top.
- Message themDirect messages, plus a group chat for every course you add.
What you get
Who it's for
Orbit is open to UBC students to begin with — signing up needs a UBC email address, and every account is confirmed by email, so the person you're messaging is genuinely in your class. More campuses follow.
Orbit is an independent student project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the University of British Columbia.
Safety comes first
Orbit connects you with people you don't know yet. Every profile and every conversation has report and block, blocking is instant and works both ways, and we review reports of objectionable content and abusive users within 24 hours. Accounts that abuse other students are removed.
Please read the safety guidelines before meeting anyone — meet in public, on campus, and tell a friend where you're going.
